The Photographer
Hi...I'm Richard Wood...and thanks for looking in. Living right here by the sea, in Scotland's most northerly county, Caithness, we are surrounded by some of the most beautiful land and sea-scapes imaginable. Wild and remote, it's been a wonderful place to bring up the family and dovetail my passions for photography and hillwalking.
I snapped away for several years, getting reasonable results with a 3 megapixel point-and-shoot but decided to upgrade to a digital SLR in 2008. The initial learning curve was steep but the extra control over the final composition was well worth the effort. I gleaned information along the way from a number of resources on the web, and have included those found most helpful on the Links page.
Aside from photography, I manage to fit a day-job in IT around my guitar and banjo-playing.
